Located right next to the famous Borre burial mounds—one of Norway’s most significant cultural heritage sites—Midgard Viking Centre offers a unique way to experience the Viking Age. The center is designed to engage all your senses, blending archaeological knowledge with interactive storytelling.

The highlight of the center is the “Gildehallen,” a magnificent reconstruction of a Viking feast hall. Built by hand using traditional tools and decorated with intricate woodcarvings, the hall allows you to see the era come alive. Here, you can learn about Viking social life and even sample time-appropriate food made with local ingredients while hearing the secrets of the hall from expert guides.

What to expect:
